The lumeshot; a special category in watch photography showing
a watch in the dark, while only the luminescent material on dial and
hands is visible.
Usually tool watches like dive watches and pilot’s watches
are known for their strong luminescent material and thus feature on
most lumeshots. Today’s Weekly Watch Photo is a rare one because it
shows an entirely different type of watch as lumeshot and it is in my
opinion one of the coolest lumeshots I’ve ever seen. The watch… an
URWERK UR-110!
Most watches from the category extravagant independent timepiece
are not really known for their use of SuperLuminova (the brand name of
the luminescent material). Although extremely rare, we have shown you
several lumeshots of watches from that category in the past year. There
was the Hautlence HL Ti 02, photographed by the Bert, now the in-house photographer of our friends at Fratellowatches. And there was the lumeshot of the Ressence Zero Series, another watch that fits the profile ‘independent’ and ‘extravagant’.
This week’s gorgeous lumeshot is made by the famous watch journalist Elizabeth Doerr.
She was so lucky to get an URWERK UR-110 for a review and the photo
above is one of the results. For those who would like to see what the
URWERK UR-110 looks like, here’s a daylight photo showing the newest
UR-110 ST.
Soon more about the newest URWERK UR-110 ST and TTH. For now you can of course find more information on the URWERK website and official URWERK Facebook page.
A big thanks to Elzabeth Doerr for the stunning photo!
