The latest in Richard Mille’s dive watch series, this RM028 has a
rather unusual and eye-catching look to it. The RM028 diver was first
presented by Mille in 2010 and now has several models in the collection
(all highly limited production), but none are quite like the latest
rendition when it comes to looks. The case on this piece has a brown
PVD finish and is paired with an orange strap. The bezel also has an
orange ring on it and there are orange numerals on the microblasted
brown PVD bezel (except for the first 15 minutes which as you can see
are displayed in a light blue). Inside the watch are many of the
innovative mechanics pioneered by Mille — for example the skeletonized
rotor with variable geometry, as I have further illustrated below.
Richard Mille has so much that is mechanically interesting and unique
about his watches and if you are interested you can read more at http://www.richardmille.com/.
This Brown PVD RM028 is available at Richard Mille retailers
and Richard Mille boutiques starting next month. Price will likely be in
the $$80,000-$90,000 range. Not sure on production quantity — previous
RM028s have seen anywhere from 10 to 100 pieces.

as seen below, the small white gold
winglets at the outer edge of the rotor can be repositioned and bolted
into one of six different positions, thereby increasing or decreasing
the centrifugal forces of the rotor
